What is Sony's LocationFree system?

If you've upgraded to the very latest version of the Sony PSP firmware, you might have noticed that there's a new feature included called LocationFree, but it's not very well explained so if you're in the dark about it, don't be surprised. You're not alone. However, it's really too bad, because like much of what Sony does, LocationFree is pretty darn cool once you learn about it: it's a video streaming system that lets you transform your Sony PSP into a handheld, portable TV screen even if you're halfway across the globe:
